Not sure what 'non-pharmaceutical' means to you exactly?

Losing 5 stones helped my asthma hugely, that wasn't pharmaceutical.

When I was heavier I bought an air purifier, that helped noticeably.

I know you can get non-allergenic pillows.

Keeping the house clean is my number one suggestion--covers on pillows and mattress and air purifiers (as already suggested :) ) and a HEPA vacuum. We clean our house regularly and have eliminated clutter and it helps a ton.

I also take vitamin D and magnesium--the former tends to be low in asthmatics and magnesium is a natural anti-inflammatory.

Sometimes I do breathing exercises. Diaphragmatic breathing is particularly helpful-

Swimming and playing a wind instrument both kept me good before diagnosis and the regular swimming does help post diagnosis. I’m not brittle asthmatic tho. Nurse confirmed these both help a lot, so I imagine yoga breathing helps too. Vit d and magnesium supposed to help and I think a good level of vit a but obviously need to be careful not to over dose.

Thanks - didnt know about Vit D and Magnesium so that is helpful. Also not aware of HEPA filters for Vacuum and Air - will investigate. Do the bedside air filters make a noise?
