Eosinophil count

Hi i have just received a letter from my last hosp spot. Saying there is a ride in my eosinophil count to 0.85. Does anyone know what this means? And what is a normal eosinophil count? I have been offered benralizumab treatment now

You don't say whether or not you have asthma but fluctuating eosinophils are sometimes a marker for eosinophilic asthma (which I have)...your eosinophils are white infection fighter cells produced in your bone marrow...when they overproduce because there is a bacteria in your lungs or airway like I have...the eosinophil count goes higher an d then the higher count causes inflammation and (in my case) asthma. Prednisone will reduce them and the swelling goes down in airway and breathing is normal as long as you are on enough Prednisone...the problem is sometimes Prednisone stops working and asthma get worse, inflammation increases and hypersensitivity to allergens gets overactive and the slightest allergen will set off an asthma attack. I began to take Nucala which is another biologic injection like benralizumab, there are names like Zolair, Fasenra etc. My eosinophils were up to 17 from a low of 4 which could not be stablized. I will receive my 4th injection. of Nucala tomorrow and for the past 4 months, I have not had any asthma or difficulty breathing. My eosinophils are 0.0 due to Nucala. I hope it continues to work well as it has given me my life back. Good luck with everything!!! Hannah
