Day 7 !

Day 7 of this admission ... progress is slow .. probably because it’s my 4th admission in 4 mths ... I’m exhausted ... and complicated !!!

Finally on the respiratory ward and they are brilliant ... the Drs are concerned I’ve got Tracheobronchomalacia (floppy trachea )! Not the best news I wanted to hear .. lots of tears and mixed emotions .. some relief I’m finally being taken seriously after 5 yrs !! I can’t get definite diagnosis until I am well enough to have bronchoscopy and CT .. so plan is to treat as asthma ( confusing as airway collapse is treated differently to asthma ) and get me well enough to go home and wait for outpatient.. BUT at least I’m finally being looked at again ...

Now just to try to reduce the worry and fear of the potential of the diagnosis ...!

Any thoughts or experiences would be gratefully received ..

Take care everyone .. the weather is not good for most of us ... beautiful but plays havoc with our lives !!!

I wish you well for both a speedy recovery and speedy answers. It is so tricky when you are “complicated” the other classic word you get is “interesting”!! I am afraid I can’t offer words of wisdom but as can send a virtual hug and wish you well x

At least you now have a plan to help you manage your health better. A short term goal for your asthma to improve and then the bronchoscopy and CT scan. I've not heard of the condition you mention. You might see if anyone on The British Lung Foundation forum knows about it. They have a link on Health Unlocked.

Sorry to hear you had such a tough time during your stay. I hope that you've managed to get some answers and relief. I was diagnosed with tracheomalacia back in Jan 2018 so more than happy to chat/listen as I know it can be really overwhelming. All the best!
