I was diagnosed with eosiniphilic asthma in 2017 and started mepo in 2018. However it was never discussed whether or not there were any long term risks with the condition?

Eosiniphilic asthma - long term risks?
Hi Brenviking, I think that Eosiniphilic asthma is not heard often of. I also get Mepo.
In your case I really think the best that you speak to your GP or your consultant in Hospital, who I believe put you in the project for Mepo. You should definitely speak to someone to find out what is going on and what the plan is with you. Good luck and take care of yourself, keep warm and cosy 🌺🍀🌺
One of several long term risks with Asthma in general is Bronchiectasis. However, there seems to be a lot of progress with existing Biological Drugs (like the one you’re on) plus a few other Meds (including more recent Biologicals) at various stages of development.
Best of all, I would guess, is the potential for Stem Cell Treatment, but timescale for that one is hard to gauge.
For the present, a disciplined adherence to whatever Meds regime suits each of us best, and doing a regular Google Search for Asthma (followed by the News Tab) is probably as much as we can do. Oh, and making sure we get a proper review with a Consultant every year or two.
