I was just wondering if anyone had any advice about going on holiday with asthma. I travel to iceland in a couple of weeks and cold is a big trigger! I was in hospital just before xmas and my pf still hasn't recovered. My g.p advised not to take anymore steroids but did increase my fostair to 3 times twice a day (which i didn't think was reccomended to do? ). Just wondering how i can reduce my risk of an attack?

I hope that you enjoy the trip. Taking a mask and / or scarf to wear over your nose might help so that you breathe in warm air when out.
Makes sure that you have sufficient medication for the time you are away and a bit longer (in case of delays) and take a note of what additional medication you have had in the past and medical problems in case you need to see a doctor while out there. If you are going with other people makes sure that they know what to do if you have an attack while you are away.
I have quite a few allergies and one of the first things I do on holiday is make sure that I know what number to call in an emergency and where the nearest doctor / hospital is. Then I can enjoy the holiday knowing that there is a plan in place if I need it!
Hi thanks for the reply. I didnt even think about finding emergency numbers before i go 🤦♀️ Definetly something i will do! I have never been given an official asthma action plan so may have to put one together myself and list my medications on that.
