#MentalHealthAwarnessWeek @asthmauk I want to speak about my experience last night I had a bad #asthmaattack I was in A&E and for the first time I realised Anxiety was playing apart, my asthma has changed & I’m less confident of what to do- the Doctor had picked up on this & let me decide if I wanted to stay in A&E or get admitted or go home he noticed my breathing change whilst We discussed what to do next he was great a credit to @AiredaleNHSFT A&E but breathing changes caused by Anxiety is dangerous for asthmatics the mind is wonderful & powerful & dangerous

Thanks Logical1966 for sharing your experience. Taking steps to get back on track emotionally is important because it can be easy to get stuck in a vicious circle: you feel anxious, anxiety makes your asthma symptoms worse, and you then feel more worried and anxious and on it goes.

There's more information here about anxiety and asthma for people to read about: bit.ly/2GhNTHM

Take care,

You're right - the mind is powerful but it also works for good. You can turn your thoughts and ideas into positive channels. You may need the help of a counsellor, or just the time to work it out for yourself, but it is your mind and you control it. Remember this when it all looks like disaster is looming!
