Peak flow is normal but still not well

Today, when my pf results came in green numbers, it tells I'm fine. But actually, I'm coughing badly, short of breath and damn tired and sick. But my parents will still send me to school and I will have trouble attending even 1 class. What to do? Please advise.

You will have to discuss this with your parents. However, be aware that peak flow isn't always a good way of telling whether someone's asthma is acting up or not. In my case, I can have a good peak flow reading but still struggle to breath properly. You can try using your reliever (Ventolin/blue inhaler) with a spacer. Use it 10 times breathing slowly but as deeply as you can. Afterwards, if you are still struggling, ask to see a doctor. Only you can tell how you are feeling. I hope that you get the help you need.

Thanks Emmasue. I had serious problem last night so I had to tell them and they tried but nothing was actually helping. So, my mother tried some of my grandmother's traditional methods. So I slept but today I'm home and have an appointment with my doc today. Hope they tell something instead of just saying to leave becoz peak flow is fine.

Hi it's hard to give advice without knowing your age. I presume you are at least 16 in which case your parents shouldn't still be treating you as a child. x
