Just started on Prednisolone - what about inhalers?

Told by my GP not to take my regular Clenil (morning and night) whilst on steroid tabs, which makes sense. Should I then substitute my regular puffs of Clenil for Venfolin (only ever take it these days when required - like today!) or while on the Prednisolone for the next 5 days only use Venfolin if I feel I need it. Know the answer is probably obvious but just would feel reassured with some advice if possible. Thanks!

Not sure I understand why you are stopping your regular inhaler! This is something I would never be asked to do. Rescue steroids are a add on to regular inhaler when you are having a flare up. Is this after a flare up or after an asthma attack?

Regular ventolin can be necessary to help you after these events. My asthma plan I presume you have a plan says every 4 hours 4 puffs. It is not a replacement for regular medication but a add on. Useddc for this only.

This is a personal opinion so don't take it as gospel. Remember we are just fellow asthmatics not health c care professionals.

I started steroids on Thursday they said don't stop with purple inhaler.

I'm still feeling crap tight chest coughing etc may need another course after this one.

The golden rule I is if you don't feel better the last but one day before you finish I.e not needing ventolin and not breathless etc then you need to go back to the doctors. Hope you feel better by Wednesday.

I'm confused you did say you were subututing the cencil for ventolin? !
