I'm tapering down too but had to stop as weather/ other triggers starting to affect. Seeing GP beginning of week. Hope you feel better soon.

I would talk to your gp to see whether they want you to continue tapering down with increasing ventolin - just to be on the safe side. That's pred for you, leaves you wide awake and wired!!! Good Luck hope all goes well

Maybe discuss with your Doc increasing dose of inhaled steroid - at least while you're exiting Pred treatment.

I've been taking Pred bursts (e.g. 40mg Per Day over 5 to 10 Day periods) about once every 6 weeks for the last year or so. In order to try and stop using Pred I'm now on close to 1000mcg (note mcg not mg) of inhaled steroid a day via a dual Inhaler that also includes a LABA, plus montelukast tabs.

So far, so good, Peak Flow gradually improving and - possibly coincidentally - Blood Pressure improving too.

Key Point. It's a slow improvement process for many folk that will take a few months - rather than weeks - to see results.
