Confused./EmmaOx/Emma's Mum/Mum Of Two.

Cathy's post for reference:

Well, here's a ""co-incidence"".

After Emma/Emma's mum were banned last year, she emailed Webed to find out why, and there was a bit of to-ing and fro-ing as she claimed various things, such as she asked her mum to post for her on her phone, etc etc (and we explained that ""mum"" had posted from ""outside ITU"" from the same domestic IP address that Emma had used from home). Anyway, it all went quiet for a few months.

Then, on the 23rd November 2011, she contacted Webed again to ask why her account was blocked, and was told again.

Then, on the 24th November, our friend Confused signs up.

It's one hell of a co-incidence but beyond the timing, and the IP (which could be shared, potentially), I cannot ""prove beyond reasonable doubt"" that she is the same person. But I agree it seems likely. Definitely one to watch.

I asked Webeditor for Confused.'s email address. His reply is priceless:

""Hi Steve,

I think this will be an open and shut case:

First name: Emma

Second name: Louise

Email: emmamarshall18@hotmail.co.uk

Cheers,

Richard""

And that is that! Well spotted, TJ.

Coincidence indeed. It was the IP address that caught my attention after a vague feeling some of the story seemed familiar.

I assume that email was used for other accounts as well as xitsmex@hotmail.co.uk for EmmaOx. Her name is the same but it is not exactly unusual?

You can only use an email address once on AUK; as long as the account is suspended but *not* deleted then that email address can't be used again.

EmmaOx used xitsmex@hotmail.co.uk, Emma'sMum used x-itsme-x@hotmail.co.uk - far too similar, and Emma's Facebook account used the *latter* of those two (which was allegedly her mum's email address)! I can't believe that an entirely different person who happens to also be called Emma Marshall is posting from exactly the same IP address as someone we've suspended called Emma Marshall!

I've updated the ""Watchlist"" to show that Confused. is a sock puppet account, and suspended it accordingly.

Have emailed webed this too:

Thanks for the reply Richard re Confused aka Emma Marshall. Thought the name sounded familiar but didn't think anymore until it came back to me recently. There is a longstanding user Jillywilly on the forum with a daughter of the same name. Can't see any obvious IP address links. They appear to be of similar ages and in a similar area of Yorkshire. There has contact with some afore mentioned banned users and others with warnings/bans. I know these are rather tenuous and circumstantial but lacking any real evidence. Just wondering if there is a link you can see as wededitor e.g. what is her email address?

Not what you're looking for?
