I have finally been told I can be referred to a chest specialist, I am really pleased!
I am going privately as the NHS waiting list is too long and I can go to a Nuffiled Hospital where my Nan works.
Has anyone else been to a chest specialist and if so what sort of test do they do?

Good for you hope you get sorted. I am not sure if a chest specialist is a consultant that deals with difficult cases or problematic ones. I was referred to asthma clinic chest doctors after too many A+ E visits I do get a lot of help, other referrals too because of my consultants expertise and inflence. Take care

I am assuming it will be a resp consultant.. so will most likely do a lung function test and take it from there each hospital has its own way of doing things and different tests they do
