's'called ""Vocal Fremitus"". Basicallt depending on if there is rubbish in your airways, collapsed lung, etc, then the sound transmits differently.

No idea why specifically ""99"" though. Personally I would have promoted the use of ""42"", or perhaps ""cheddar cheese"".
