Is it just me or do other peoples asthma seem to worsen with hayfever? are the two related in some way, i ve had asthma for roughly a year now and have really noticed a difference since the ""summer"" has started !
hayfever can indeed affect asthma and if you haven't done so already, it would be a very good idea to discuss any impact you are experiencing with your GP or asthma nurse. If you're up for reading a long, scholarly article on allergic rhinitis (hayfever) and asthma, focusing on guidelines for treatment, you can go to the official website of ARIA (Allergic Rhinitis and its Impact on Asthma) at whiar.org/ or you might prefer the pocket guide, accessible from the same site. ARIA is an international collaborative effort by leading specialists in respiratory medicine and allergy/immunology. Bear in mind that these guidelines are written principally for clinicians treating asthma. You could also have a look at the Pollen section of the asthma trigger tips on the Asthma UK site - asthma.org.uk/all_about_ast... .
But don't forget to see your GP or asthma nurse if your symptoms are worsening due to the pollen season; you could also contact one of the nurses on the Asthma UK adviceline.
