VERY dangerous especially if you have been on it long term (over three weeks). I had a severe stomach bug whilst on long term pred last year and so wasn't keeping down Pred long enough to be absorbed, leading to adrenal crisis resulting in emergency admission to hospital where I was very unwell.

When taking pred long term, your body stops making its own, so you have to taper off so your body can begin to make its own again.

Definitely call out of hours doc or failing that take copy of repeat prescription to any pharmacist (but preferably the one you usually use) and they should provide you with a few days emergency supply to get you through the weekend.
