Some of the community on here have been a little stressed lately, time to have some fun. So lets have a party! Want to know if it was your party, or going to a party what you would wear, what kind of music you would like to hear. What kind of food would be enjoyed. Who would be your partner and why? And of course last but not least, what kind of games should be played.
I am forty on the 27th May, not having a party, but would like a virtual one, so all are invited!
Edit: I would come as Mavis the Fairy from Willo the Wisp (We are both plump and beautiful), Lottie my daxie would come as Moog from Willo the Wisp (They both have the same figure). Lottie would be my partner because she is my soul mate. Party food would be Iced Gems, Jelly Icecream, and loads of chocolate everything. Definitely 80's music. Games, well pass the parcel would be one used to enjoy the little hidden treats as you were removing the newspapers. Standing statues and Musical Chairs, because I love the chaos and sniggers and giggles it used to create.
Food - curries, chilli con carne, choc/creamy puddings, G&T, champagne
Music - violin, walz, musical theatre favourites, Michael Ball, Roger Whitaker, John Owen Jones,
Location - a palace
Dress - ball gowns/black tie
Partner - Richard Sharpe in uniform (aka Sean Bean) for the dancing and my husband for chat, meeting and greeting, eating and romance
I am 28 on tuesday and having a party next Saturday, so this shall be a mix of that and wish list, I shall call i dreamality!
Food - BBQ, on gas with 14lb rainbow trout, prawn skewers, chicken skewers, burger and sausages.
Guests - all my wonderful friends and colleagues.
Partner - Mr Darcy
Decoration - Helium filled light up balloons (fingers crossed they aren't a massive let down), candle light bags, and chinese laterns.
Entertanment - Wii karaoke, mostly Glee!
Drink - Lyme Bay wine and pink champagne
Dress - Beautiful summer wear, I shall be wearing a halter neck maxi dress (actually found one in Monsoon that hits the floor at last, only been looking for 2 years!)
Oh, good call for this one, I am really excited now. Happy birthday for this week and next few all fellow Geminis!! xx
good idea...
what to wear... i always spend ages deciding what to wear and then change my mind anyways lol hehe
themed party maybe 70s or 80s
food - jelly and ie-cream or chocolate fountain
music - 70s 80s and up til now for all the youngsters to get their groove on lol
Music definitely 60s & 70s but since I no longer have the figure to fit into mini skirts or hot pants I won't insist on a dress code to match! Food - Thai / Chinese / indian and then lots of desserts - pavlovas, profiteroles, loads of fresh fruit, gateaux etc. Lots of really good wine and beer and plenty of soft drinks. I'd like Stephen Fry, Terry Pratchett and Billy Connolly to be there, and everyone I've ever known (except my ex-husband lol). Everyone here invited.

Happy birthday Katina!
I've bought along Haribos and loads more 80s music for your party (remember Wham! :)).
Snowygirl, I'll fight you for Johnny Depp! Though not too hard if I can have Nathaniel Parker (if you don't know him google image him - he is exactly my type so am reserving him ;))
Food: choc fountain, choc truffle cake, steak and twiglets (yes, I know weird combo but I'm a carnivore who likes some children's party food and REALLY likes dark chocolate cake.) No jelly for me, everyone else can have that as I hate it.
Dress: something vintage, or rather vintage (30s)-inspired as I'm 'scaled up' from 30s sizes. Dark red would be good. Or teal/forest green. With possibly a fabulous ruby necklace. Actually I'd like the outfit the murder victim wears on The Mystery of the Blue Train - one of the Poirot David Suchet ones. Without the murder bit, obviously.
Music: vintage - Cole Porter etc. Also some modern cheese - and I mean full-on CHEESE. Nothing trendy is allowed.
Games: Articulate! Pictionary, musical chairs, Grandmother's footsteps etc - classic party games plus board games for lots of people. Charades as well.
Location: A ballroom, but with a place to change out of nice dress and go on bouncy castle outside in garden.
Decorations: lots of fairy lights.
Happy birthday to everyone with impending/recent birthdays! Mine's not till October so a while to wait (I did have a great murder mystery for my 21st, my friends even devised a murder mystery game).
Happy BIrthday Katina. Hope you're having a lovely day. I hit M&S food on leaving Costa, so I have Percy Pigs, Reversy Percy pigs and every version of Colin Caterpillars going to add to the food pile. Me, I'd like some electric jelly - does anyone remember that - it was a kids' party food in the late 1980s - I remember the really blue one - hate to think how many colours were in them!
The board games sound fun, and pin the tail on the handsome men...
Not much of a party or birthday person, spent the day snuggling with Lottie and my net book, then went in search of paint and new curtains for mother in law's dining room. Have touched no drink, but enjoyed raspberry pavalova icecream this evening after turning down a Chinese takeaway (Think I need to see a head doc about turning down the Chinese). Received £100, a book and some flowers (to which I gave some away, because I think there would be too many in the house, and didn't want to suffer). My favorite thing has to be my two birthday cards from my beloved Lottie Dog and Husband which were about Dogs and their do do which made me laugh.
Party wise, I think you all have good ideas, no one of you is the best so you are all invited! Finally thanks for making me smile really needed it. So to everyone cheers and bottoms up now going in search of some Baileys which is in the fridge.
yeah, party day is here!!! Light up balloons all heliumated and tied to railings of decking!! Veggies all chopped up and dips made (sorry peanut allergy people, do not come near!!). Strawberries and raspberries pressed and waiting to be topped with bubbly bubbles. Happy, sunny days people. Thinking of those not able to frolick in the sun this weekend for whatever reason
Belated happy birthday Nicola, have a great party!
