14 month has asthma

we have only found out today after suspecting for a couple of months that alicia has asthma.alicia tends to have her difficulities at night.she is very weezy and has a terrible cough at night and is up every half and hour to an hour and is always gasping for breath. i am going to go private and get some allergy testing done will that help?
