I am 45yrs old and I had 15months without a period then I had a period on 1st May then another 21st May then nothing since.
Was referred to gynae as my bloods showed my FSH as 20.9 so I am not menopausal... I'm inbetween so i guess I'm perimenopausal.
I have been experiencing lower abdominal pain and a pain in my hip and down into my left thigh.
I had a TV scan done 4 weeks ago and the Consultant said she couldnt see my uterus to measure my lining nor see my ovaries. She said she would re-do the scan in 4 weeks and I had to fast this time.
Was back today for my scam and still no luck. She said I am hard to scan! She said she can't see my uterus or ovaries so I am being booked in for a MRI.
Has anyone experienced this? Do you know why they wouldn't be fully visible on the TV?
Many thanks,
Shelley

Usually uterus and ovaries are seen best on a transvaginal scan, but sometimes as everyone is different, the anatomy is better seen with a different imaging device ( like MRI for example).
It’s tricky to say at this point. If you'd like to speak to our gynae cancer nurse, please email nurse@eveappeal.org.uk
