I am 23 years old. For a few years I have had bleeding after sex. It does not happen every time (maybe 2 out of 3 times). I have been to see the GP and have tested negative for any STI's, she had a look and said it looked fine. Should I be concerned?

Hi there,
Thank you for getting in touch with us. It's good to hear that your STI results were negative. Can we suggest that you ask your GP/healthcare provider for a smear test? These aren't normally carried out in England until the lady is 25 years old, but as you have been bleeding after sex, they should say yes to seeing you sooner. There are a few different explanations for abnormal bleeding, and a smear test will help to rule out anything more serious.
