For self injecting medication? Yes I have been using a pen injection for my Methotrexate for over 3 1/2 years, with no problems at all, and also Humira by pen injection. You are shown by a nurse how to do it, practise with them there and the nurses will show you how much you need. Also it can be done at your Gp surgery I think.

Hi Riedenise. Yes I also use pen inj for methotrexate. I also use a biological drug called emberal a bio similar. This is also a pen injection. I have psoriatic arthritis. This is my third biological that I have tried. It has taken my painful osteoarthritis in my knees away, but still have painful swollen wrists, hands, shoulders. Am hoping that being on this biological drug after 12 weeks it may take the pain away. Has anyone else having this problem?

When I gave my reply I didn't realise the question was about the cannibis cbd oil medipen.

I was on Humira but it never did work so I have just begun on Rituximab infusion s. So like you I am now hoping this will work.

Mazziemar I have RA, OA, Fibromyalgia, Secondary Sjogrens, Roseaca, Asthma, im under investigation for Ra related Heart problems at the moment. I was on Humira for 11 months it really didn't work but also every time I injected I had bad site reactions that lasted a week. I've just started Rituximab infusions had my first set of two done.

Hi R. That's a lot of illnesses that u have to put up with. I do feel for u, I really hope that the infusions help u out. That is my last option to have that done. Iam not sure how many more of the biological's that I can try if this one doesn't work for me? Wishing u all the best of luck for the infusion 's to work for u.

Thank you M. It does get me down, also sometimes it's hard to think what iscausing the pain as some overlap each other and cause the same symptoms.

I wish you all the best and hope you can find the right med to help you. From what I've picked up and read it can be hit and miss to see which Dmard or Biologic will work.

I am on a clinical study at the Nuffield hospital in Oxford for this same problem. It's a study for patients that fail on an AntiTnFs ie Humira, Embrel etc. They take a Synovial fluid biopsy from an inflamed joint either knee or wrist, it is tested to see if they can pin point through tests to wether Rituximab or Tocilimab the next step after AntiTnFs will would work better. They both work against a different protein in the white blood cells your Immune system. The results are input into a computer and then allocated one of them to start. If it's found the chosen one isn't working then you are automatically switched on to the other one. The study has taken over my treatment completely and I have to regularly attend for blood tests, ultrasound s, xrays, etc. So I am happy to take part as it's not an unknown drug trial, if it can help future care of RA patients get a quicker, better treatment plan then it's all for the good.

Hi R. Just wondering how u r getting on with the clinical trials? I hope you are feeling a lot better nowadays?. I think that my biological injection is working for me my knees are a lot better. My wrists are still swollen and Iam still taking my painkillers. I still get very stiff so still waiting for the magic 12 weeks to see if my swollen joints go down. All the best to you.

Hi Mazzimar, lovely to hear from you. My appointments on the study have now gone 4 weekly so a lot better for me. I had another ultrasound on my wrists and hands, more bloods taken, when last there 2 weeks ago. The Rheumatologist is going to refer me to the Orthopaedic Surgeon for my knees as they are bad especially the right. Glad to hear your knees are improving, yes that magical 12 weeks, heres hoping You and me get the relief we need when our Biologics start to work. You take care. X

Hi Riedenise, Thanks for replying back. I wish u all the best for your opp. It's a shame it's so bad for u. I thought my left knee was bad but it has eased up since the biological's. I also have ultrasound on the back of my hands and wrist's. Also monthly blood tests. Please keep me informed how u get on. What sort of arthritis have u got? I have psoriatic. Take care.
