Hi

I'm sorry to hear of health problems & concerns, of course you're worried, who wouldn't be!!

My husband had a heart attack followed by cardiac arrest nearly 30 years ago. He also has severe heart failure diagnosed in 2011 & recently been diagnosed with LBBB.

LBBB in itself is not dangerous or life threatening, lots of people live with this and are not aware they even have it, it's often only picked up when you're being investigated for something else. LBBB only becomes a problem if you already have a serious heart condition. LBBB is basically the electrics of your heart takes a beat of a detour round your ventricle before it beats which basically makes your heart beat a bit slower. This was only an problem for my husband as he also has bradycardia (another slow heart beat condition) so he's recently had a CRT-d fitted to synchronise the ventricles of his heart to beat together in time. All very technical but very effective.

With regards to the BNP: You would expect a high BNP level after a heart attack but in time that should settle down particularly with the medications available these days. I know of people who's BNP level was in the thousands with or without having had a heart attack and with medication & lifestyle changes are living normal lifes, some even running marathons! Do you know what your BNP level is?

I don't know what level my bnp was.I had my echocardiogram nearly two weeks ago no results yet but it's a bit soon to hear anything.

The lady who did the echocardiogram ,said she couldn't tell me anything, but it wasn't normal, but not very worrying either..

Well that sounds a bit positive that whatever the echocardiogram showed isn't too worrying. Your Dr should be able to tell you what your BNP was.

The waiting is always the worst but if the echo technician had been very concerned he/she would have arranged for a Dr to see you there & then, they have done that with my husband before now. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for the echo results.

Not what you're looking for?
