Ectopic beats with headache

Hi

I'm 57 and I'm having ectopic beats since I was in my twenties. Had them on and off over the years. Now I have them back for the last 3 weeks and they are really bad, I get them everyday after food and when I walk. When I get them I also get like a pressure like headache. Not too painful but scary and unpleasant. Went to see my GP. He referred me to a cardiologist. Got the letter from the hospital, saying that the current waiting time is 18 week. Don't know how to bear them for 18 weeks... any suggestions?

Thanks for listening

Can you afford a private consultation? Do your research and find a consultant and a cardiac unit with a leading reputation. This will ‘jump start’ the investigation but make clear that you then want to transfer back to the NHS for any extended diagnosis and treatment. The consultant should cost around £150-200 but and tests (blood, echo, ECG) will add to this. Budget £1k but an angiogram or MRI will likely break the budget.
