I'm seriously obsessed with my body!!

Hello,

I've always been very body conscious. It got worse at some stages where I was abusing laxatives and making myself sick. I'm not in that phase so much anymore but I can't stop obsessing over what I look like and how much I weigh.

I don't want my life to be determined by how I'm looking but it just won't end. I don't feel happy in anything. I cried my eyes out to my boyfriend today and even though his supportive words helped, I just fell straight back into that self-loathing mindset.

I seriously don't know what to do anymore. Any advice would be appreciated.

Are you still taking laxatives? if so i recommend reading a PDF file about laxatives that is from the b-eat website, if you haven't already done so. Their information could be helpful or it might not be for you.

Here's the link - b-eat.co.uk/assets/000/000/...

Another one to their main website - b-eat.co.uk

Hope this information is useful.

kind regards

I completely get you. There was a while where I couldn't look in the mirror because I felt so repulsive. Talk to your GP maybe? They may refer you or monitor you. I did not talk to a GP but if I had, it would have helped. I let things get bad. I was bingeing and then I started to restrict and things got bad and I wish I had tackled my issues before they got worse. Not saying you may get worse, just that it is better to deal with it asap.

Also, I found the exercise helped me. When I exercise I feel like, wow, this is something my body can do.

Hope this helps.

Yeah that's how I feel. I mean, it's not even like I'm overweight or unhealthy I'm just stuck in this terrible mindset of comparing myself and being unhappy with myself no matter what. I definitely think talking to someone about it will help. It's been gradually getting worse literally since I was a pre-teen and I'm now 20. I do think it's time I dealt with it openly and honestly.

Yes I find that!! I do love the way I feel after exercise!

Thank you so much 😊
