I had a right lobectomy and was wondering about recuperation. I have SOB upon minor exertion, a cough, minor incision pain (VATS), fatigue, and minor indigestion. Is this normal as to recovery? My NP says it is but I want to hear from those experiencing recovery.

Healing definitely takes time and really depends on many factors. I had a bilobectomy via thoracotomy in November, I still have some nerve pain and SOB and I’m 45. Be patient with yourself and know that everyone is different when it comes to how they handle the healing process. You did just undergo a major surgery after all. Wishing you a fantastic recovery.

Thanks!!! I am 63 and not used to being “down”. I did get permission today to start on the treadmill, slowly!!!!

I had both SOB and indigestion, it takes time.
