Hollie, accepting issues of confidentiality etc could you share with us what the response is to this, at least in terms of numbers and nationalities. I'd be interested if anyone at all has had treatment for permanent AF.

Hi Hollie, it would be helpful to know whether your survey includes ALL types of ablation, as there are a few different methods, or are you just looking at the conventional catheter ablation?

I would be interested in these findings having been in permanent EF for around 12 months now and wondering if it should be something I should settle for.

Given that 'permanent' AF is an agreement between patient and physician that no further surgical intervention will be attempted, I struggle to see how anyone can be qualified to take part!

Maybe it should be ‘long term persistent’? There is a post recently by Stormy reporting that her ‘permanent AF’ is now NSR, so you never know!

It is possible that a patient would have an ablation with permanent/persistent afib prior to electing for no further treatment.

Would be an interesting survey as Hollie mentions to see the impact.

By definition it is not 'permanent' until the decision is made not to treat. So it's not possible to have an ablation for permanent AF.
