Rhinitis

No idea about suitable sprays. My GP has recently prescribed a antihistamine tablet, Loratadine. She said it is fine for people fir arrhythmia. Could you ask your pharmacist for advice.
My GP prescribed Mometasone furate - works quite well and had no probs but I am PAF not persistent. I think you can buy as OTC med.
I have the same for occasional use, more than occasional in allergy season which is just starting for me.

I would check with chemist. I use a saline spray which helps and also loratadine .
Hello Gillybean123,
You don’t say what meds you are currently taking. Rhinitis can be a side effect of quite a few heart rate/rythym drugs prescribed for AF . I suffered for many years with severe rhinitis as a result of the drugs but didn't want to be adding more drugs into the mix so I only used saline water when really bad. I found it worked well for me.
If you are going down the drug route always check it out with a pharmacist as it is surprising how many interact with each other.
I am in permanent AF and use mometasone, with no side effects. However, I will give the saline sprays a go. I get a blocked nose at night, when do those who are using it, use the spray?
l use Sterimer spray. It is natural sea water enriched with manganese. Free from steroids, drugs and preservatives.
Not much. Saline sprays are the current vogue and profit earner but do very little for most, I would say. Antihistamnies might do the trick but get it prescribed or ask the pharmacist.
I have this a lot and hate it. My doctor prescribe a steroid inhaler but, sad to report, it did nothing for me. I think if your congestion is allergy-based, then this would work better. Mine seems to be more related to my general sinus troubles.

Being a physician with AF who specialized in allergy and clinical immunology here is my suggestion.
Any nasal steroid is fine with AF. Avoid vasoconstrictors like phenlyephrine which behave like Adrenalin and could increase heart rate and possibly trigger AF.

I have found that if I take 500 magnesium GLYCINATE once in the morning and again at bedtime, I avoid AF. Try it yourself.
I was prescribed Fexofenadene and also dymista spray. Can’t say either worked so don’t bother, gave up yog and milk and that has helped a lot. Think I have silent reflux but trying to sort af first..keeps reoccurring too often
