Afib / Heart Failure

Last week I went to A and E with chest pain and breathlessness during an Afib episodeI was diagnosed with heart failure

My question is , when in Afib is there a certain amount of ' heart failure ' anyway or is it a completely different condition ?

I feel a bit confused at the moment

Heart failure merely means that it is unable fully to supply all the needs of the body.

I strongly believe that the diagnosis of heart failure whilst in AF is very much a misnomer and unfair diagnosis.

My logic is that having an echocardiogram, if or when your heart has had a chance to recover and whilst beating normally would give a much more accurate picture.
