I'm four months post ablation at the end of July. Over the recovery time I have had no AFib but regular episodes of feeling flutters in my chest which the nurse at my 12 week check said was probably ectopics, not to worry about. However it seems to have got worse over the last few days and although my Fitbit recorded it as NSR, my Kardia said Sinus rhythm with superventricular ectopics and a few minutes later recorded Atrial Fibrillation. The AFib only lasted about 15 minutes with a hr on my in the 80s and my hr gradually settled over the next hour. Is this normal during recovery? I'm getting a bit worried 😔

As we say in our fact sheet above many people are still improving at nine months or a year so I woudn't get too worried. Ectopics are a commion side effect of ablation but slow deep breathing is known to be effective in terminating them. Use diaphragm not shoulders and slow breathing down to no more than six per minute for at least five minutes.
