TikTok User Evie Clayton thought she was battling anxiety for almost a decade; however, her Apple watch detected an arrythmia through an ECG which later helped her get a diagnosis.

The ECG (Electrocardiogram) is a recording of the electrical signal from the heart and gives a lot of information about how well it is performing. An ECG records the heart's electrical signals, showing if it's beating regularly and at a proper rate. For specialists, it provides deeper insights into heart function and potential issues.

Hi Kelley.

10 years without being diagnosed - Frighting thought for two reasons.

1. She is lucky not to have had a stroke.

2. The medics who diagnosed anxiety are incompetent IMO. Did they not check her pulse over a ten-year period? I know with PAF Afib won't always be detected. Still, it should have been picked up at some point.

I think I had Afib for 2 years before it was diagnosed and that was just by chance.

Shows the importance of the Know Your Pulse campaign. I had occasional strange feelings in my chest for a year or more, then it did it in my routine offshore medical (age 41). I thought "well, now I'll find out", and the doctor did that quiet "hmmm" that signifies something not quite right. Got sent straight to a cardiologist ("No, you'll get a taxi, I don't want you going up and down stairs to the Tube"), by which time of course I was in NSR. But a follow-up with my local cardy confirmed AF and so began the usual long tale of woe and arrhythmic tyranny. So I got to find out relatively quickly.

Hi Cliff.

The deaded doctor "hmmm". When your medic does that you know there is trouble ahead! It's the same when you take your car to the garage, and the mechanic opens the bonnet, takes one look at the engine, and makes that "hmmm" sound. You know there's a big bill coming your way!
