7 day monitors

Hi, does anyone have experience or recommendations for the 7 day monitors you can get on line - things like Echomed, hearttec, ecgathome? Living with AF and HF, but having been abandoned by cardiology and not much help from the GP, wondering if one of these would give useful data to go back to GP again to ask for a new referral?

Thank you

Hi, there’s very little info about yourself so it’s difficult to know whether a monitor would be useful. Other ways of checking your HR and rhythm regularly are the Kardia or an Apple Watch and phone combo.

Please give a little more detail about yourself such as age, type of AF, duration and meds, and what you hope to achieve by being referred ❤️‍🩹

Thanks for replying, I'm looking for my Mum who is on bisoperol, apixiban and a water pill. We ended up in A&E recently who were reassuring but thought it would be good to see cardiology again. Her first issues started about 6 years ago and the AF's been permanent for about 5 years. I'm hoping to be able to get more data for cardiology without waiting ages fir the NHS holter.

I have used the Wellue AI-ECG monitor with great success. If you search Wellue on this forum you'll find a lot of posts. Mine is a 24-hour monitor, but they now do a "24/72" hour one.

I've found even my 24 hour one invaluable, as you say, being able to demonstrate to a doctor what's happening. It helped me diagnose my A-flutter before the doctors confirmed it, and has given me weekly info on ectopics etc post my recent ablation, which got me an increase in meds within a matter of days.

The usual route of Holter plus 12-lead just takes so long, especially in today's NHS, and of course when you eventually have the Holter, the heart often refuses to play ball and show what's been going on.

The Wellue is a single-lead ECG (two electrodes) so can't show certain things that ones with more leads can, but it does show a lot of interesting stuff.

I looked up ecgathome out of curiosity, very interesting, NHS grade 7day Holter patch by post followed by cardiologist consultation re results, for £399. Hope this doesn’t count as an advert but it was a service I was totally unaware of and seemingly there are others so I found it interesting.
