Does anyone notice any arrhythmias with Otrivine or Sudafed nasal sprays? Trigger / ectopics etc?

Most such sprays contain some form of ephedrine so best avoided.

I had an AF episode once which I linked to use of decongestant spray (like Sudafed). Did some research which confirmed it was a possible cause i.e. something people with AF should avoid apparently. However, I've discussed with my cardiologist and pharmacist and I use sparingly when I really need to. I haven't had any problems since that initial episode but we're all different. My AF burden is low, I'm otherwise fit and healthy, have no co-morbidities etc

It's definitely something you should discuss with your doctor as Sudafed is contraindicated for a range of heart related medical conditions, including AF.

l don’t go anywhere near those. I use Olbas oil. Works a treat for me, but we are all different.

That's a good idea. Used to have some, will check/get/try. Thanks.

Everything else has failed so far, save for the tiniest squirt of Sudafed, nowhere near a full spray dose, and 1 nostril only. But concerned it may be aggravating things.

Olbas did it (just)! Many drops on a handkerchief, placed right beneath my nose on the pillow (side sleeper). Thanks!

Brilliant. Good isn’t it? Pure and natural. Glad to be of help.

Yes, we've had it in the medicine cabinet for years (the bottle is actually out of date🤣) , I just forgot to try it. Vick didn't do much but it's not as easy to use. Also feeling better in the head this morning 😀
