3 months ago I posted my concern about pacemaker replacement possibly being held up by waiting list delays.....

Good News !! apparently my battery decay has been accelerating and I was sent for with just a few days notice - and a week ago I was updated with a new pacemaker.

Good News - recovery time is quicker and easier second time around !!!

😀😀😀😀

That’s good news, does it have any new fangled features?

I’m hoping when I get mine next year I’ll be able to read it myself!

😊

Nothing new l’m sad to say but working well, swelling disappearing and minimal pain fading to tiny niggles

That’s a lot to be grateful for - I’m glad it’s going well for you!

Do they not replace the wires as well then? The not lifting my arm for six weeks was the worst part for me.

No, just the unit with the battery in, reattach the leads.

Not had that pleasure yet.

The existing leads were utilised - hence the simpler procedure with normal arm movement continuing though driving banned for two weeks🤪👍

Good old NHS - and better days for it seem likely to be round the corner! Well, we can but hope.
