Had my pulse field ablation for PAF April 15 at Mount Sinai Hosp NY. My surgeon is Dr. Vivek Reddy who is a leading researcher and specialist. At first, I started to feel quite stable but rather tired with the heart ache sometimes seen. The procedure itself was a breeze from my end. However, over the ensuing weeks, I'm having lots of ectopy but no long runs of AF or rapid pulse like before. This week I'm wearing the Zio monitor for analysis.
I wouldnt mind going for another if necessary but I am a serious anethesia risk. I would even request the same anesthesia team since I came out OK.
The procedure only takes about an hour and half. It can be done with sedation but, since I have asthma, they used general anesthesia. This is because asthmatics tend to cough, when they are working by the pulmonary veins
