Hi every one. Leaving to go visit my daughter tomorrow by plane. We usually drive. I was running around doing errands and Dr. appt . Then when I was driving home my a fib started. I have paroxysmal a fib. Usually it lasts 14 -19 hours . My plane leaves at 9:30 am . So I will be leaving for airport around 7. Has anyone ever flown while in a fib ? Trying to decide if my a fib is not gone by then what should I do ? If we were going by car I feel that I would go just having the security that if something happens I can get help , which nothing has never happened. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thank you all !

My guess is stress set you off, so take a chill pill, stay well hydrated, leave more time than usual at airport so you don't panic and enjoy your break. Make sure you have plenty of your meds to hand of course.
At the height of my AF journey I often had to fly around Europa to race meetings (motorsport) and frequently had AF episodes, on one occasion as I drive into the airport . It was not pleasant but then AF never is.
Thank you Bob for the encouraging words . I totally agree that part of it was stress. I ended up having a horrible night probably because I was hoping it would go away before the flight. But it didn’t and because I was feeling totally exhausted I decided not to go but reschedule for next week . There wasn’t any rush and the flight was very cheap. Finally it went away around 10 am 16 hours later which was when my flight left , funny how this works. I’ll have to work on trying to chill next time and continue with my plans. For right now am only on metoprolol succinate Er and Eliquis I’ve been told there are medications that u can take to help curb this . I will ck. With my Dr. next time. Thank you again.😀
yes-often with no issues other than being tired upon arrival! The trips were always worth the discomfort! I flew long haul flights often between Europe Canada and USA. The longest was 23 hours and spent half in rapid Afib …. The only thing diffèrent than being in the airplane or home was I was going somewhere I wanted to be!
Take your meds, and go !
I guess it may depend on how high your heart rate goes when in afib. No way I could travel. Generally can’t even walk unassisted, rate usually starts at 150 and jumps to 170s. You know best what you can handle. You do you.🤞👍
