"Seek No More!" a bit of nonsense...

“Seek No More!”

Diogenes had a new job at hand.

No longer seeking an honest man,

He was hired by my insurance plan

To find the causes and cure

For the Afib we endure.

After many years of study,

The picture’s still muddy,

With poor Di gone nearly nutty,

His frustration so triggered and dire

He decided it was time to retire!

With apologies, Fibnum

😅 oh we need humour in our lives. Well done. You’ll soon be challenging Jean as top ditty maker.

I offer only an occasional jest,

To be champ is not my quest.

Hi

Fibnum a success

you certainly did impress

the poetry in some of us.

of course we don't wish to make a fuss

our inner heart is playing up

don't forget to raise a cup

of green tea, herbal stuff to subdue shock

to lay us out, but smooth out the frock

yes, let's have a rest

taking the breath healthy way to relax best

we will be here tomorrow to confess

another AF episode, you may have guessed.

Very nice!

I hope today's Afib is poetic, not real,

If not, I'm sorry for how you feel.

I suffer another disease quite horrible,

As an addicted rhymer, I'm incorrigible!

I find that a poem a day,

Offers critics much to say,

While keeping solicitors at bay

And, sadly, friends away!

.

Best,

Fibnum

Hi

Actually I have controlled heart rate - was rapid, with no symptoms now.

Where does the poeticness come from?

Derek Jarman is my cousin - film director, artist, poem and writer. He started the uplift for gay folks to be accepted in this world. He died in 1994. I met his sister Gay in Oxford.

Poems just come to me and flow in. I love it. I'm a fan of Sam Hunt Poet, Writer and Actor.

Cheers to Poets.

Hi

Very amazing.

***Life retired goes so fast

when the "got to dos" is so vast.

AFib is just a thing

we want to knock back to have a fling.

Fling of what you might say

well, adrenaline rush - hiking, biking or falling out of the sky! Hooray

but we can't with all our medical traits and pills

that stop the adrenaline causing the ills

complications of AF make crossing off bucket lists

all too far away in the mist

so we take it bravely what we cannot do

and we accept that our live is much dominated too.

Thank you for those! You are more imaginative than I. I tend to write narrative, story-telling style poems with a message on love or on social issues, including, recently, gay marriage, in support of my LGBTQ friends.

As a retired musician, I got into poetry writing a while after realizing Afib was going to be part of my life. I think one becomes more philosophical, introspective and escapist in searching for sanctuary from the dread of Afib.

I don't imagine the Afib Forum is tolerant of too much poetry exchange. I have a first book of 47 poems being printed and bound this week. I think it will earn a great deal of money - for the printer!

I would suggest though, that for those living with Afib, self expression through music, art and writing can be a vital source of positivity and peace.

Here is a brief, more subtle poem, which could be, perhaps, related to the feeling we have when our fickle hearts let us down. Don't tell anyone it is not really about that!

“Passing By”

A breeze, kissing a face that doesn’t smile,

circles back, teasing, tickling,

then drying tears, moves on.

Is it because of me?

a promise broken, made in haste

I did not say trust me.

You were there.

A summer’s eve wind,

I came and went

in brief intensity.

Love not shared

made you cry.

the breeze dies…

you will feel it again.

Hi

Nice

If it is to do with AF or outskirts of it we have had sessions of poetry until they simply stop.

Well done.

We haven't heard from any others.

Hi

Go for it mate.

But life quickens up thereafter.

So enjoy life doing the things you always want to do.

Life becomes full of surprises.

Like the man who walked on the route less travelled in Spain.

The movie.
