Do Beta Blockers have side effect of brain fog? I have been taking Sotalol and I seriously feel like I have dementia. I am 48 and have been forgetting bizarre things and it is kind of a big deal because I am a nurse in an ER!!! Is that a side effect? Eek!! I just seriously suddenly cannot remember things, feel very scatter brained.

I've read that confusion and brain fog can be a side effect of some betablockers but whatever issues you think you have with your medications should be discussed with your doctor. This ensures it's not being caused by something else that requires attention or if being caused by your medication your doctor might be able to change it to something that does the job without the side effects.

I had no problem with sotalol, but I did with bisopramol I was very brain foggy to the point it's in me notes no bisopramol.no disrespects but it could be a bit of sotalol combined with your age ? Eg menopause might make the medicine have a worse effect than it would normally.Good luck anyway

I have been taking Sotalol for a couple of years and initially had a number of side effects which did include brain fog and tiredness as my blood pressure was very low. I would say the effects have improved although l still can feel regular fatigue. I was on Biso and Flecanide before and couldn't tolerate either of them. All medication can affect people differently so you should contact your GP for further advice even just to put your mind at rest.
