AF or Ecropics?

I get extra beats which manifest either as a feeling in the chest or if I'm taking wrist pulse as a missing pulse. I get about 1000 of these a day. I only very occasionally get quick flutters ( several fast beats in a row which only lasts a few secs. I take clopidogrel once every two days for ischaemia in brain.

Others experience appreciated.

Sounds like ectopic beats but you need an ekg to confirm. Your doctor can hook you up to a holter type device and/or you can home monitor with a Kardia type device or Apple Watch and then send the ekg to your doctor for review, if you cannot understand it.

Hi Omits.

The sensation of extra heartbeats, also known as palpitations, can be caused by a variety of factors, including stress, caffeine intake, certain medications, or underlying heart conditions. Given your history of ischemia in the brain and taking clopidogrel, it's important to discuss these symptoms with your doctor I think. Try and call him/her to make an appointment in the morning.

Most people get them but a 1000 a day is pretty high IMO.

Hi

It may be that you have a soft heart murmur which was a new development in 2022.

Systollic beat and told not to worry about it. Systollic pressure and function working OK.

Hi

Reading about your drug Clo................. it reads to stop it within 12 months.

I had an Ischaemic Stroke in the Left Frontal Lobe of the brain. Mine was a Embollic.

I take PRADAXA x twice day 110mg. Never heard of yours.

Risk of bleeding on Clo..... you can have Paracetamol but no DOACS.

Interesting read. My carotid arteries were clear.

Take care.

Sounds exactly like the Ectopics I get with a very occasional 6 second flutter. I take Bisprolol for it now but it is not something the Consultant worries about even at over 5000 per day when it is playing up. I would suspect that I have also hit circa 15,000 on occasion.

Do you feel slightly tight chested? Like you were out of breath but the part when you have virtually got your breath back.

Sounds normal for me. I had about 6 to 12 ectopics a minute the other day (thats over 4000 in 12 hours). No AF though. Heart rate was never over 100. Not sure why they happened, but certain foods and stress will do this to me. The next day, maybe I had 10 ectopics. Weird.
