AF is chaotic (lack of) rhythm which is usually at a fast rate but often is not.

SVT is fast (more than 100 BPM) regular rhythm.

My SVT can be irregular as well (but in a different way, in that it changes over time spent exercising) so I think they are different forms of the same thing (Heart Arrhythmia) with SVT happening due to exercise more than AF and related to being in competitive sport in youth. My SVT seems to have changed to more like AF as I've aged (I'm 80 now) so I get an irregular heart rate at low rates now. (Lying in bed)

All the best.

My understanding is that they are both different but you can, obviously, have both at the same time......... which unfortunately was my experience.

They both start in the atria but SVT is a fast rate and AF an irregular one. You can experience both at the same time. 😊
