Does anyone know if there is anywhere to rent a Holster monitor. My son has been virtually bedbounde for 5 years and it has been recommended that he has one, but it is not possible for us to buy one. Any help would be very gratefully received.

Holter monitors (named after the inventor) are normally prescribed by a consultant so best discuss with your medical team.

Hello, I am sorry to read about your son and the pain he is experiencing over such a long period of time.

Unfortunately, a Holter Monitor cannot be rented or purchased. They are heart monitors that record the heart rhythm, all Holter's are ordered on an individual basis by the doctor.

The reason being is the data collected by the monitor has to be assessed by a healthcare professional (an Electrophysiologist - EP).

There are alternative/wearable heart monitors that are available. I would suggest an AliveCor Kardia Mobile, a small device that can take an ECG in 30 seconds, by working alongside an App downloaded to your tablet or smartphone.
