help needed to choose a replacement heart monitor watch to synchronise with my iPad please

Can anyone recommend a smart watch that would sync with my iPad. Have just had to get rid of my Fitbit Sense 2 as it will no longer sync with any of the 4 devices in in our household. I loved the Fitbit Sense 2 as it gave me a notification when I had an Arrhythmia and could do an ECG among other functions that were also very useful to me. Unfortunately the Fitbit app does not seem to be supported by iPad anymore. Have been wondering if an Apple Watch would work for me. Can anyone let me know of their experience with the various watches that help monitor heart function and help motivate exercise. Thanks to you all for any advice/recommendations.

Apple Watch only pairs with iPhone, you can sync your iPhone Health information with your iPad but not Watch directly to iPad.

Are you sure the Sense 2 is incompatible with ipad?

There’s lots of troubleshooting advice on google for people experiencing syncing problems.

Just search google for “fitbit sense 2 not syncing with ipad”

I’ve got an Apple Watch Series 7 and love it. It syncs with my iPhone and I can do ecg’s on it, it is always monitoring my heart rate, will send me high heart rate warnings (this has to be set up), it will do O2 sats. It also gives you monthly exercise challenges as well as monitors you energy use, standing episodes and exercise minutes. I feel it was definitely worth the money. 😊

Hi there, I’ve used Apple Watch 7 for the last 2 years & very pleased. Gives reports of ECG which you can take or send to Consultants. Will give high or low HR alerts depending on what you ask it to do. Will alert AF senses, prompt exercise, CO2 readings & more. It also will call emergency services & next of kin if you fall & were unconscious or unable to respond. It actually alerted me that I was a fall risk when I thought that’s ridiculous-18mths later I began having falls

I’ve heard there were rumours of this coming with iPadOS17 (IOS17) but the only thing I’ve seen is they added the Health App for ipad which will sync with the Health App on your iPhone so you can see all the ECGs, Heart info, etc captured on the watch and saved in your iPhone. This works for me but I don’t think there is a watch app for iPads to pair directly.

I think only an Apple Watch would do that, although Omron BP machines do sync with the Apple Health app, I believe, so if they sell a home ECG monitor, that might work. I seem to recall that the Kardia ECG device syncs with the Apple Health app, too, but I've stopped using mine in favour of the Wellue AI device.

Thanks, I have just bought a WellueAI as my Kardia also developed problems, haha. I seem to be having a lot of electrical issues right now as my hair dryer also blew up this week too (it was quite old though)!

I find the Wellue AI 24-hour device pretty amazing. I ended up buying the smaller Well hand held one, too (which is similar to the Kardia in size and use but not so well made overall, perhaps).

I use Fitbit inspire2 and that syncs to iPad. I’d be surprised if yours does not. Maybe reach out to Fitbit for help??

I have the cheaper Apple Watch SE, and I really like it. It doesn’t do the whole ECG thing, but it did alert me to Atrial Fibrillation, allowing for diagnosis. It used to sync to my phone only, but now the Health App also shows on my iPad.

I had two Fitbits before this. The first one worked well, but they stopped doing replacement straps and it started to hurt my wrist. The second just stopped syncing properly to the app.

I find that filling in the rings on the Apple Watch clock face is motivating. Handy to be able to answer phone calls and be alerted to messages too. Oh, and I can pay for things without scrabbling for purse or phone. I was a little worried until it dawned on me that if it’s off my wrist it locks, so is safer than a card really. It also generates different card numbers so the retailer doesn’t even see your card number.

I’m still using my Fitbit Inspire with my iPad. The occasional times I’ve had a problem I’ve found there’s a great support person on X, formerly Twitter. You will need an account, free, with them but the guy in there has always been extremely helpful
