Is there anyone out there on immunosuppressants taking Flecainide? If so, any complication?

on immunosuppressant but only have flecainide as PIP, not been a problem but had flecainide regularly before immunocompromised but stopped by af nurse as it caused flutters.

Try BNF interactions section or ask your GP or whoever prescribes yr immunosuppressant therapy. Take care 🦊x

Thanks for the insight. My nephrologist has already given the OK for me to start Flecainide, but I have to have the Nuclear stress test first.

You can check drug interactions on drugs.com , but not sure beforehand if your immunosuppressant drugs are included. Give it a try.

Thanks, Ozziebob. I have already checked with another source and found out there is an interaction with one of the drugs, but apparently it can be managed. I'm not too hopeful about the outcome. I would imagine more frequent blood tests may be required. Ho Hum.

Hi Cablecar Sorry not replied sooner. I had a very bad experience with Flecainide and Sotalol for my Arrhythmia, Flecainide made my symptoms much worse and I think changed my Arrhythmia, I have suffered badly since taking it and as for the Sotalol, I only took one dose and was even worse with those, on both occasions of taking these medications I had to call an ambulance as my heart rate shot through the roof and I felt terrible. However, other people swear by these 2 medications but they haven`t suited me at all. Maybe I just can`t take Anti-Arrhythmics. I take 300mg of Metoprolol which is a beta blocker that I have been on on a smaller dose for many years but I persuaded my Doctor to give the increased dose a chance. I am on the waiting list for a Pacemaker though. Hope this has been helpful.
