Aside from the very sensible caution to avoid driving, using heavy machinery and for someone to be present for 24 hours I would like to suggest the following:
If your partner is a good cook then keep out of the kitchen for at least two weeks or until they notice that you are skiving.
Try to secure breakfast in bed for the first three days
Do not lift the vacuum cleaner for at least six weeks
Allow yourself cream with soft fruit
Eat a whole pack of hand fried crisps without feeling guilty
Keep out of everyone’s way and do something useful like dreaming of the next holiday and learning a foreign language
Personally I am finding this advice very helpful - any further suggestions? 😀😀😀

What helpful advice Rainfern. Think I would play safe and have breakfast in bed for a week or two. Don't try to do too much too soon.
Also if you hear anyone coming up the stairs, pretend to be asleep. It helps with their understanding and they will be more sympathetic as to why you have to stay in bed. Don't be afraid to let them know how exhausted you feel.
If it's a lovely warm sunny day ask someone to set up a lounger, and parasol for you in the garden (it's really important to get out into the fresh air). Don't be surprised if it drains you though and you may need help getting back into bed.
Magnum choc ices can be very cooling, ask for these whenever you feel the need.
😂😂😂 wonderful advice Jean, and very helpful! These subtle manoeuvres like pretending to be asleep are excellent. I have also found that responding to family and friends on the mobile can help sustain a position of weary repose. I hadn’t thought about the garden lounger idea - I’ll wait until a sunny day and enjoy a magnum!
Not cardiac but my right shoulder rotator cuff repair!
Oh well stock up on ready meals I guess. And my Baha'i family will help.
Dreaming of a holiday.Well I booked but chose to HOLD it for $25. AirNZ sale but meantime I finally had OK for operation. So the $25 went by the by. Perhaps a way to make AirNZ rich!
