Anyone know how soon I can swim in a hotel pool after my hybrid mini maze. All wounds are healed over but still raised.

I would think this is a question for your medical team.

If you can exercise and take a bath, don't see why you can't swim in a pool, but to be sure, contact your doctor.

Take care. Sadly I discovered that swimming triggers my AF. Don't know if it's the coolness of the water (yes even heated pools feel cold to me), or the actual movement. Gone are the days when I was coached in the local pool twice a week. Or swam from one beach to another. It's something I really miss.

Be cautious at this early stage.

That’s. Real shame when it’s something you love, swimming from 1 beach to another sounds very brave.

I was swimming after 2 months, went on my usual 2 week holiday abroad and Mr Hunter fine with that.

It’s only for a couple of days in Cumbria, but hotel has leisure facilities, going shortly so no time to ask medics. Think I’ll just use my common sense and take it gently, a bit of splashing about and more reading my book on a sun lounger. Probably only use it tomorrow when husband is working and leaving me stranded in the middle of nowhere. 😂

might not need the pool the amounts it’s raining, I’ll need armbands to get to the restaurant.

it’s wild here too, one minute sunshine, the next it’s pouring like on the continent.

You really need to ask your doctor. You don’t know how well they maintain the pool and the chemicals could be off, etc. it’s not worth taking a chance. Just like my incision from my pacemaker heaven for bid anything gets in there and causes an infection. You don’t say how long it’s been, but if they still are raised , I would be cautious. They do have wrapping that you can buy for medical purposes but again I wouldn’t take a chance even wiping your own skin, and then your incisions can cause a problem sometimes. I don’t know how many you have. If there’s a way to waterproof yourself, your doctor should know.

Thank you, it’s only 3small incision on my left side and 2 groin ones, it’s been 8 weeks since my hybrid mini maze. I’m off for a walk at the moment to explore the countryside around the hotel.
