I’ve been on Amiodarone since February and supposed to only be on it for 3 months due to my age and the side effects. Over the past week, my vision has become extremely blurry when looking at my phone. Just wondered if this was a common side effect experienced on this drug?
Thanks,
B

Sorry to hear you are getting problems with your eyes. I have taken amiodarone in the past for about six months. I became concerned about the effect it was having on my kidney function. At the time I was lucky to be able to discuss this with my consultant who agreed that I could gradually reduce dosage & come off the tablet. I now take a beta blocker & blood thinner. Perhaps you could get to speak to consultants secretary to stress how concerned you are. My best wishes.
Amioderone is known for causing optic neuritis, visual disturbance and possibly blindness. You should discontinue it immediately preferably with consultation with your EP and see an ophthalmologist emergetly. Best, etheral
Thank you so very much for posting about the adverse effects Amiodarone has on vision. I've been having increasing problems with my eyesight. I'll mention this to my doctor. Thank you again! Pat
Thanks all for your replies. My cardiologist happened to call me to check in and when I mentioned this, he told me to either get an urgent eye test or go to walk-In eye clinic in the city centre. I’ve got an eye appointment for Sunday 🤞🤞
I am not sure what meds, etc. or perhaps left so oxygen blood but I had problems with my vision also. I just had cataract surgery just before I was struck with a fib and I had perfect vision but yes I get blurry sometimes not so much since the pacemaker but I do feel my vision is no longer perfect. I just can’t deal with another doctor right now to get it tested. I was legally blind originally so I freak out about my vision. I have a feeling it’s the oxygen just like our brain. That being said, I definitely have improved now that I have my pacemaker and AV node ablated.
I hope you got some answers. You mentioned being fitted Have you had your AV node ablated as well? I don’t know if you need that done particularly situation.
