I’ve had daily Afib episodes lately, but they have not been severe. I was thinking I would let my GP know, and then 9 days ago they stopped ( had one yesterday ) and have been replaced by PVCs and SVEs. These feel like they are all the time , although calmer in the night and I am sleeping. All this has been noted with my Kardia. I am worried about how dangerous all these palpitations are. On top of that, this morning I see that I forgot my tablets last night. I take 5 mgs Bisoprolol twice daily, so I suppose I have only missed half of my 24 hour dose. Anyway, Bisoprolol manages rate, not Rythmn, as I understand it. The thing is, I have also missed my Warfarin. I take 8 mgs daily. I was instructed to reduce by 2 mgs on Tuesday as my INR was 3.2 but as it is Saturday ( it always is when something goes wrong, isn’t it ! ) and because taking so many individual Warfarin pills makes adjustment easy, I wondered if I should take a couple extra tonight and tomorrow, then ring INR clinic on Monday to get an appointment. I know some of you check your own Warfarin, and I would appreciate any thoughts on my concerns.
Annie.

INR takes a few days to stabilise so since you were over target anyway I realy wouldn't worry too much. Just take you normal dose tonight and carry on regardless. When is your next test due?
Thanks Bob. Next test due in 10 days. I always have them every fortnight at my own request ( anxious woman ! ) so I could ring anyway on Monday and they can decide if they want to check me before then. I’m a bit worried about the Bisoprolol, but my heart rate is ok this morning and I’ve taken this mornings dose. Thanks for responding. We can always depend on you !
Honestly Annie don't beat yourself up about it. Really small beer. I noted on Friday that I was taking Thursday's pills from my seven day box so presumably forgot my Tuesday pills when we went out to dinner for my birthday and been a day behind since. Stupid boy!
hello , i have been on warfarin for 20 years now after mvr i regular take my tablets but do on odd occasions forget but since i have to take tablets at night which is when i notice my warfarin still in the box so i take it then last thing at night never missed a does but if you notice anti co ag give you a least a weeks dose i think so long as you can pull in your missed dose within that week you should be ok , hope this helps
Thank you for responding. I take mine in the evening but I didn’t notice I had forgotten them until the next dose was due. However, I rang the INR clinic today and they said that they don’t need to see me until the next check I have due in a weeks time. They will make adjustments then. Thanks again.
Annie you should have directions with your meds. They say if you forget them take them as soon as you remember, but if it is close to taking them again, do not take both, so no, don’t take extra at least those are the instructions I have with my anticoagulate. think about it, if you have a procedure, you need to stop taking sometimes a couple of days ahead. It’s not good to skip them, but evidently it is safe enough to do or they wouldn’t have us do that for a surgery. I think we all miss them once in a while. I am amazed I do, as well as I do taking mine, because I was never good at taking medication’s on time. I guess when it comes to keeping our life, we manage to learn.
I didn’t even think about the fact they stop drugs before surgery ! What you say is very true, if it is possible for them to do that, then a missed dose isn’t going to do much harm. Thanks !
