Wearable Tracker to record Sleep Pattern

Hi,

I upgraded my Fitbit to a Charge 5 model about a year ago as I was interested in being able to review my sleep score in greater detail. I also paid to use their premium service.

Whilst the Charge 5 has many good functions it is hit and miss with recording my sleep pattern which I assume is due to my persistent atrial fibrillation.

Last night it recorded various elements of my sleep to my surprise (rem, deep, light etc) as it has not done so since December of last year, normally it just provides what they call a simplified sleep score which just tells you how long you have been asleep and the times you woke doing the night which is really next to useless.

So my question is can anyone recommend a wearable device that can provide a detailed sleep analysis when you have persistent atrial fibrillation.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

hi i have a Fitbit charge 5 and don’t pay for premium but it always shows details of sleep pattern. Maybe contact Fitbit , I’ve found them quite helpful in the past.

Hi,

My Fitbit used to record my sleep patterns before I had Atrial Fibrillation but now it seldom does, so I must presume it is the AF that is causing the problem. I’ll give Fitbit a call and see what they say.

I just check my sleep score on the app, the only thing I need premium for is sleeping heart rate. It was the Fitbit that told me I had afib but hasn't changed what it tells me. Not sure what can be happening with yours . Hope you get sorted.

DenBoy, I know this isn't wearable but I use the App "Sleep Score". Subscription required. I locate the iphone on the bedside table and it detects movement. Gives very detailed output.

Hi,

Thats interesting, I’ve not heard of that App so will look it up and see how it works. It detects movement as you say and I imagine it must also detect sound.

My Apple watch gives a record of how long I have been asleep, the depth, quality and heart rate average.

Hi,

Good that your Apple Watch gives you all that sleep information, however the question is do you have persistent AF as that I think is what is causing a problem with my FibBit Charge 5.

No, I don't. I think if I did it would be setting off the alarm on my watch constantly.!
