Checked in for ablation.Just waiting as next in.
Courage my friend. Relax you are in good hands.
Good luck to you. Hope all goes well
all the best kkatz……soon be all over 👍
Wishing you a successful outcome kkatz. Sat waiting is so boring isn't it, especially when waiting in a corridor.
Best wishes, heres to you feeling so much better after the ablation and nsr a way of life. All the best.
Well hopefully you are at the beginning of having a better life in nsr without the dread of the next run hanging over you Can anyone comment on new pulse technology used in ablation. Procedure called Electroporation systems specifically introduced to combat AF may be called pulsed field ablation - this is more focused so less surrounding tissue affected uses more effective targeting of cells
So early ablation now seen as more effective treatment and considering the amount of drugs and side effects then you are in a happy place just relax and know these procedures are common now safer and have that great outcome freedom from the blip !
Good luck
Healthy 65
got pulse field ablation in clinical trial in August 2021, had paroxysmal AF for 8 years, several ER visits, 2 cardio versions, flutter ablation with no success. Since electroporation NO problems other than a few ectopics (PACs) and NO flecainide or diltiazem!!! Hope FDA approved SOON!
All the best! I was lucky to hear the magic words ‘we will do these checks quickly, you’re first in the list’.
Anyway, it was a lot less scary than I expected.
Godwilling xxx😘
All the best.
Good luck kkatz, I am sure all will go well. Patient Services are always here if you ever want a chat, or some advice following your ablation 01789 867 502 info@afa.org.uk.

Looking forward to your update. Bet you're doing fine now. The wait is the worst. Take it easy now, remember BobD advice: Week1, sofa and remote, Week 2 make a cuppa, back to that sofa.
I would really like to thank you all for your support.I am fine & in NSR .I had loads of sleep afterwards & slept well. Will post later today or tomorrow.Just to say I would have no worries doing it again.
Relax and take deep breaths.
Very best of luck and interested to hear how it all goes (hoping to go down the same path but on the first step)
Glad it went well. Remember the three rules post ablation
Rest
Rest
More rest
Give yourself and your heart the chance to fully recover and not fall into the trap that you feel ok so can go back to normal. From experience things take a while to settle down.
Best wishes
Jeff
I wish you a speedy recovery! X

Only seeing this a day late. Hope all went well and it worked
Following your progress 🙂
They gave me Fentolell and I was away with the fairies so don't worry I didn't feel anything and the results have been more than worth it! xx
Hope you're recovering well. Take it easy. Rest is your friend.
Update 2 days after ablation.Had to thank all you lovely people.Quick summary of procedure day.Quick for me is virtually impossible as some of you know.I Spent most of my waiting time on chairs were they could put me & even got changed in small office that was used for canular insertion & blood tests.Normal waiting area full. But I did get to see behind the scenes more.Lots of apologies but I would have been happy sat on hospital steps as I was so glad to be there. Not too long a wait as I think a couple of emergencies came in.Taken into cath lab.Loads of monitoring stickers & questions.Doctor came in said "Same as previous".Injection which I presume was local anaesthetic.I could feel tubes moving up & had to assist by holding breath & bearing down.Felt pain at about 6 or 7 level for maybe a minute .I let them know & was given sedation.Seemed quite a time coming & working but I admit I am a bit of a scaredy cat.Terrified of Dentists.I did occasionally come round a bit & wonder if sedation working but I am sure it was .
Next thing I know I am on a ward.Oxygen mask and advised too drink lots of water as BP low.Flapjacks tip re sports bottle made that easier.
All in all to discharge about 11 hours.Having a fear of dentists I can honestly say I would have more fear of a couple of feelings than having an ablation.
