Sometimes you get scar tissue forming around the soft tissue which was damaged whilst inserting the PM - would that explain the pain? For me it was like a stinging sensation rather than pain and some loss of strength around the shoulder. I found light massage around the area helped.

If it is sharp, constant pain then you should go see your GP.

Ty, not sharp pain, just a constant reminder that it’s there. I shouldn’t complain , I have not had an episode since the pacemaker and ablation surgeries. It was all so worth it!!

Hi, I had a pacemaker inserted dec 21, so fairly recent. I've had no pain, itches sometimes and bruised it once whilecleaning windows. I've had about 4 pacemaker checks at local hospital, consultant requests re hiccups with AFib, since dec 21 and thats where I raise any issues. I'd ring hospital and ask to be checked.

My incision still aches occasionally after open heart surgery last year. My consultant confirmed that it can be uncomfortable up to eighteen months until the nerves re-establish.
