having been afib free for some months , my heart has suddenly started what feels like a missed beat and flutter constantly . I can pricy see my chest move , and I’m scared stiff . I’ve had it for three days now , and I don’t know whetrher I should try to keep calm and sit it out , go to a& E or call an ambulance. It seemed to calm when I set to bed , but the moment my feet are on the floor it starts again . Had anyone had this ? It’s a new feeling after paroxysmal af , or is it part of the same thing . Help please ? When I feel my pulse I can feel the hesitation, and then the shudder before it starts again. Sorry my hand is shaking.

Hi Janna, I think this needs investigating, if only for your own peace of mind. Why not ring your GP's surgery, they may say go to them for an ECG. I've rang mine in the afternoon and they've said to go straight to them. So just call them and explain the situation and say how worried you are.
Failing that you could dial the 111 no., but I feel your doctor's surgery is the best option.

thank you Jean, still try to get through. Have you ever had this feeling in your chest is it the afib in another form? I’m
I've had the feeling like my heart is trying to get out of my chest, those episodes were usually in the middle of the night. I would think that I'd surely be found dead in the morning and used to text my daughter (who had her mobile phone off) to say please check on me in the morning. Years later I'm still alive and kicking, never thought I'd ever feel as well as I do right now.
When I last saw my cardiologist in August, he took me off of Flecainide and just left me on 2 x 12.5mg Metoprolol. Then I had covid and pneumonia together and had a long period of taking very strong antibiotics. As my heart rate was high then too, my beta blocker was changed to Bisoprolol. Now 3 months later I feel extremely well and better than I have for years. Whether it was changing the pills or having the strong antibiotics I really don't know, but I feel alive and energetic again, haven't felt this way for years.

Hi Janna, I hope you managed to get through to your GP today. As Jean says, what you’re experiencing needs investigating as it’s new for you. I’ve certainly had AF episodes where I can see my chest moving where my ticker is jumping about - still here of course but it was disconcerting! I hope it settles for you soon.
Yes, I get similar hesitation & shudder but only on average once a day and then all normal. Have you changed your routine, your diet or stress level? I agree with Jean GP surgery & ECG because peace of mind will help.
