Antivax creep.

Sadly, I'm finding many posts recently have an underlying antivax theme. Dress it up how you will but to someone who has lost their mother, my sister's partner and nearly my sister to Covid, all unvaccinated, I am finding those posts very distressing. Which is why, after many years, I am leaving this forum. I hope the few experiences I've shared have helped some and wish every one of you well coping with AF.

Sorry you have taken that choice. I find it better just to ignore things I don't like and move on. Stay well.

I noticed it too. Feels a bit sneaky and one wonders about the motivation of the 'under the radar' posts but so long as people debate respectfully and interesting points are made I think it's best to ignore and move on.

Could you explain please what you mean ‘under the radar’ posts? All the posts I’ve seen around COVID and the vaccinations are quite open? You can skip past.

I think dialogue presenting reasoned arguments regarding COVID and vaccinations related to their impact on AF are relevant - as long as forum rules around respect for other viewpoints to our own are maintained.

There will always be the occasional provocateur - whose posts we can ignore.

Difficult to explain and it might even be my own response. I was one of the people who thought the 'this video was taken down' was put up to provoke discussion about the topic. And I guess it's not the topic itself but the provoke bit I'm responding to. Don't know if this makes sense? Some posts (any topic) are obviously inflammatory- we all recognise those - others often follow on around the same topic but bringing it up in what seems to be a roundabout way. That's something I noticed and maybe the OP here did too. Thank you for asking CDreamer. Perhaps my response looked like stirring in which case, my apologies. Last thing we need here!

John, I couldn't have said it better! My country has a Constitution and a Bill of Rights that protects your view and mine!!

Getting the Covid Vax out so quickly saved millions of lives, if we cast our minds back to the horrific scenes in Bergamo in spring 2020. It was a true miracle that the technology was ready and it was rolled out so quickly. My heart bleeds for people like yourself for whom it came too late and, as you say, seeing anti Vax comments on here must be painful indeed

I wish you all the best xxx

Best to block the mis-information spreaders. They are only doing it for the reaction.

I watched Panorama the other day, which was a real eye opener.

You might like to read "The history of vaccines" on the Red Cross website. "thanks to a global mass vaccination programme, the World Health Organisation officially declared smallpox eradicated in 1980. "

Nearly all posts that have anything to do with covid or vaccination have words indicating it in the title. Nobody is forced to click on the title to bring up the post and read the post or the responses. You just can scroll on past. Just as I do if I see posts referring to say prostate problems. Not being a man I don't find them very interesting. Same for ablation. When I seriously consider having one I'll start reading them .

John6,

I am all in favour of " intelligent debate" so what do you suggest is the correct response to someone who posts "What makes you think an injection would save anyone from a bug?"?

Love your caring, sympathetic tone - have you ever thought of joining a debating society instead?

Although this forum is for those with AF we should all bear in mind that there will be posters on here who have other issues including mental health issues and we should read posts and make our replies with this in mind. Be kind!
