I have to been on tenterhooks for the past week about my phone consultation with an EP Will I mess it up will he say we can't do anything? 10-20 mins phone call is not enough?

Phone call less than 10 mins. He was obviously prepared. He asked me a couple of questions.Told me options.Cv with Amiodarone or Ablation. He recommended Ablation due to how long I have been in AF & waiting list.

So ablation it is list about 4 months.

You must be super exited. Although this is a small procedure it is very important. In no time it will be a distant memory while you continue to wallow in its success.

I am uncertain if it will be with the EP I spoke too but all I will say it will be one of The LGI EPs

My ablation was like a magic bullet. Felt fantastic within 24 hrs. And still doing fine after a year. God luck, nothing to worry about

You are cheering because it is acting positively on your condition! Many of us experience a higher level of well being post ablation. I've no regrets even if I don't go fully into remission- it's been part of a process of getting my life back. So pleased for you!

Yes it has been a long hard fight to get to this.I have gone through referral going to wrong branch of cardiology, being told rate is ok doubt we can do anything due to co morbidities, long delays for tests due to covid,.And then when I get EP referral I get a guy who likes to spend long holidays doing charity work abroad. But persistence & getting a helpful person when I chase has got me there finally. Now just the waiting list & hope it works.

Well, there's one thing that might be advantage- someone who dies charity work abroad might me a good listener and a caring person. Might be just the EP you need.

Yes and he is supposed to be good but sat in his tray for 2 months & he was on holiday when I chased is not good. But thanks to an angel who picked up the phone I had an appointment in a week with another Ep .

Hi Katz,I am 70 and recently had my 3rd ablation. So far so good. I was free of Afib for 7 years after the 2nd ablation but it returned in 2020. Most of the anti arrhythmia drugs have side effects so I didn’t want to be on them long term. Hopefully the ablation will work for you and you can stay off meds. I just take a beta blocker now. Good luck!
